Arizona Hardwood Floor Supply, Inc. rose to the challenge of adding antique oak flooring to the Harley Davidson® showroom in Scottsdale, AZ. A job that required the highest level of craftsmanship, our commercial team was quick to step up to the plate.

The Mighty Oak

Oak wood is a strong, durable wood that has an attractive light color with a prominent grain. Oak is a much-loved tree around the world as it’s a symbol of strength, knowledge, and resistance. In Greek mythology the “Mighty Oak” was a symbol of Zeus, the God of Thunder.


With its durable nature, oak is perfect for high traffic areas.

A Hardwood Flooring Project with a Unique Twist

The Harley Davidson® project consisted of over 15,000 square feet of Antique oak. The planks widths ranged from 3” to 6”. The antique oak hardwood flooring was installed over the subfloor followed by sanding and finishing. In all the project took a little over a month for the installation to be complete.


This project was unique in that we stained sections of the floor to create a visual appearance without changing the physical nature of the oak floor. What appears to be shadow lines is the stain that we applied to separate sections of the floor for the display areas, retail space, and showroom.

The Project isn’t complete without Bona Kemi

To finish the hardwood flooring, we used Bona® Kemi medium brown stain in the pattern areas. We then went on to complete the project with one coat of a sealant and two coats Traffic HD commercial satin finish that was designed specifically for high traffic commercial and residential hardwood floors.
