We received a direct message from
Hartman_haus, a local west valley designer and influencer in the Peoria Arizona area with a fantastic following on
Instagram saying, I got another project for you! I am helping my Peoria Arizona client with a full remodel and she wants hardwood floors! We need to demo tile and tear out laminate before we get started.
The current state of the home had old stained carpet throughout the upstairs and the downstairs had old tile and outdated laminate flooring that needed to be removed before we could install a new hardwood floor. We had already installed
Urban Floor @Hartman_haus on an earlier project this year and our Peoria client chose Urban Floor
Villa Caprisi Oak Ravenna.
The
Villa Caprisi by
Urban Floor features beautiful European oaks that send off a cool and relaxing vibe with its sandy texture that reminds us of Italy. The smooth lines are wire brushed to accent the deep texture of the grain and create subtle texture variations in the wood. The engineered hardwood planks from this collection are 9.5 inches wide with a durable lacquer finish.
Urban Floor offers a large collection of engineered hardwood and luxury vinyl plank. Choose from several different collections including
Urban Lifestyle,
Chene,
Villa Caprisi,
L’ Artiste,
Composer,
Timbertop,
Mountain Country,
Welcome Home,
Royal Court and the
Presidential Signature Series if you are looking for quality engineered hardwood. If you are looking for water proof and pet safe flooring check out the
Cascade Series of Luxury vinyl plank flooring. Each line has a unique look and color theme to fit in with almost any decorative scheme. Rustic, contemporary, textured or smooth, Urban Floor has it all!

As the project started the demo went pretty smooth. The laminate came right out but the tile was a bit more work and mess. When we demo tile there is a fine dust created by the set and grout that stays in the air for days. One other small problem that occurred was the moldings for the steps. The color of the stair nosings did not match the material and after a few discussions and checking the available supply of moldings, we decided to make a squared profile out of the Urban material. This was the biggest hurdle we faced during the course of this installation because it delayed the stairs almost 3 weeks and we had to custom make the nosings. The stair nosings we make are a squared profile compared to a rounded profile made by the manufacture. Making the nosings out of the flooring material guarantees the color will match across the tread, riser and nosings, and allowed us to complete the staircase!

The hardwood floor installation in Peoria came out fantastic and Jessica from
Hartman_haus did an even better job designing, colorizing and organizing the project! If you are looking for help on your remodel project check out
